What to Expect from the Electrical Safety Inspection

The owner of Briggs Electric Company’s  A qualified electrician will visit your home or business and thoroughly examine your entire electrical system.
A detailed written checklist will be filled out and given to you on site. Our electrical safety checkup includes any areas that need immediate attention, recommendations for improvements and potential upgrade possibilities for your home or business needs. Because Briggs  Electric is serious about your safety, the electrical safety checkup is a part of every service call at no additional cost to you.


Once A Year
Safety Inspection  It is not a contract we just put you on out calendar to call and ask if you want us to  replace batteries, smoke detectors and check for proper operation and do the testing.

What Does the Electrical Safety Checkup Cover?

We will test all electrical outlets in your home for proper operation.

Check all light switches in your home for proper operation.

Check for Proper Placement and Presence of Smoke Detectors

Test all smoke detectors for proper operation and replace batteries as needed.

Test Carbon Monoxide Detectors if present

Check Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCIs) Do Ground Fault and Arc Fault testing. If you do not know what it is click on what is an Arc Fault Breaker?

Check your homes' Surge Protection System.

Check for Safety and Security Lighting

Check Grounding Systems
Breaker Box:

Perform a load calculation on your breaker box to be sure your system is not overloaded, and therefore unsafe.

Check and clean your main breaker box and tighten wiring as needed.

"Exercise" all breakers for safe, efficient operation.

Install a FREE breaker panel sticker listing what breakers control which areas of the home.

Check for overloaded circuits.

Test all ceiling, attic and exhaust fans (up to 12') in the home and check for proper operation.

Test all security lighting to be sure it is in proper working order.

Check your homes' Surge Protection System.

Reset all electric and electronic timers to current season.

Check for Code Violations.

Inspect and Report ALL Other Potential or Immediate Hazards
